Mobile payments firm Square signs further retail deals

Mobile payments firm Square has signed deals to offer its credit card readers through OfficeMax and UPS Stores.  The partnerships boost the number of retail outlets selling Square’s devices from 9,000 last year to 10,000 at present. Square’s card reader plugs into mobile devices such as smartphones and tables which, when used together with an app, allows users to handle credit and debit card payments. The devices sells  for USD9.99 per unit, and the firm claims to be processing more than USD11m per day in payments.
