Sage North America releases latest version of its mobile payment product

Sage launches Mobile Payments 2.0

Sage North America is launching Sage Mobile Payments 2.0, the latest version of its mobile payments product. Sage Mobile Payments comes together with a Sage merchant account allowing businesses to extend their existing payment solution to process credit and debit card transactions using a mobile device across most major wireless carriers. The solution is Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant and enables anytime, anywhere transactions in real-time. The latest version aims to enhance the user experience with features designed to save time and increase security such as an updated user interface, signature capture capabilities, a tax and tip calculator and a free Sage Mobile “app store” download. Sage is not levying mobile transaction surcharges and according to President of Sage Payment Solutions, Greg Hammermaster, “businesses have the option to pay no more than they would to process regular credit or debit card transactions on a standard credit card terminal.”

The same source observes the importance of mobility in todays world, pointing out that “in 2011 25% of worldwide mobile PC shipments we tablets, and upwards of 75% of US small and mid-sized businesses plan to purchase tablets in the next year.”
