Bank of America delays the launch of its mobile check deposit service

Check deposit service delayed

To the disappointment of its nine million mobile banking customers Bank of America is delaying the launch of its much anticipated mobile check deposit service to the second half of the year. The service was due to be implemented for 30th June but reports claim the bank has had to postpone for undisclosed reasons. It is alleged that the bank may be looking to introduce a charge for the service. Tara Burke, a Bank of America spokesperson, explains that the bank is “not about being first to market, but about being right-to-market”. USAA Bank was the first to introduce a check deposit service in August 2009; Chase, the US’s first bank, released the feature in July 2010.
