Chase, Capital One and Barclaycard enter into agreement with ISIS

Rolling out mid year

The card issuers are the first to partner with the mobile commerce joint venture and make their credit, debit and prepaid cards compatible with the ISIS Mobile Wallet (view press release). From mid-2012, customers using these cards will be able to load their details into the Wallet, shop and redeem loyalty offers with a tap of their mobile phone at participating retailers in Salt Lake City and Austin, Texas. A national rollout will subsequently follow. Each card issuer will be able to customise the ISIS Mobile Wallet to match their particular brand.

In July 2011, ISIS partnered with the four major US payment networks: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express, to give banks and consumers the freedom to use any payment network via its Mobile Wallet. Gwenn Bezard, research director with Aite Groupe, says ISIS is unique because it is “patiently building an ecosystem of issuer, network and merchant partners, offering an open platform that leaves partners in control of how they will communicate with their customers, and leaving the partners in control of sensitive payment and marketing data transiting over the platform.”
