The partnership aims to develop secure PoS terminals that operate securely worldwide, providing Computop’s platform with smartphone and tablet PoS capabilities (view press release). The goal is to enable merchants to use Paygate services across their whole service offering, online and in-store, by deploying a fully integrated, multi-channel payment solution that includes PoS, e-commerce, call centre and mobile payments.
Computop CEO Ralf Gladis says “we look forward to combining MagTek’s PoS solutions with our Paygate 5.0 platform… Initially we will be developing products which could enable mobile smartphone and tablet PoS solutions, so watch this space.” Steve Poulston, MD of MagTek, says “all possibilities are being explored within the labs.”
The two parties will be announcing the first fruits of their collaboration in spring this year
