The new solution is an onboard retailing payment processing technology that allows travel operators and airlines to process secure transactions onboard (view press release). The service supports credit/debit cards, loyalty cards, coupons, pre-payments, complimentary and micro-payments in an online (real time), offline (batch) or mixed connectivity environment. It accepts various currencies and payment methods including EMV, swipe, contactless card, mobile based NFC and e-commerce transactions. The service is compatible with hardware platforms such as seat-back screens and inflight entertainment systems, kiosks, mobile devices and PoS handheld devices.
Tom Douramakos, president and CEO of GuestLogix, says “the power of the technology is that it can be integrated with GuestLogix’ PoS handheld devices or other device providers such as Ingenico, Verifone and other leading handheld manufacturers.”
