Eventbrite develops mobile card reader for ticketing service

At the Door

Online event management firm Eventbrite is launching its own branded credit card reader, designed to integrate with its ‘At The Door’ iPad app. The service allows venues to conduct on-the-door ticket sales by swiping a customer’s card through the iPad reader, potentially speeding up the process.

Eventbrite is also updating its app to include wireless printing, cash sales management tools, online receipt capability, and buyer information aggregation.

The card reader costs USD10, but as an introductory offer EventBrite will deposit USD10 of credit in the Eventbrite account of anyone purchasing a reader. The San Francisco-based company also collects a transaction fee for credit card payments made using the reader.
