Electronic payment processor SkyBank Financial is set to acquire fellow payment processing provider PCI Professionals (view press release). SkyBank Financial claims that by taking on PCI Professional’s products and services the company will provide merchants greater flexibility and lower costs through new payment technologies such as mobile commerce, NFC and EMV. Through the deal, PCI Professional’s founder and CEO Thomas Aronica (who also co-owns SkyBank Financial) will become CEO and president of SkyBank Financial.
“The acquisition of PCI Professionals, which has demonstrated a successful track record in deploying traditional, online and mobile payments transactions, will significantly strengthen our ability to satisfy buyers’ needs,” said Todd Oretsky, co-owner of SkyBank Financial. “Thomas Aronica is recognized as an expert in the payments industry, and with his strong operational experience, we have a great deal of confidence in the future growth of our company.”
