The San Francisco based mobile payment startup is making its payment module available to open source shopping cart, Zen Cart (view press release). The module integrates with OPenCuro’s API, allowing merchants using Zen Cart to accept OpenCuro payments on their existing checkout page. Open Curo’s mobile payment solution enables users to make secure payments from their mobile devices using the OpenCuro unique payment code, the CuroCode. The CuroCode is similar to cash in that it is a randomly generated, alphanumeric code that contains no personally identifying sender information.
“Zen Cart is a fully featured open source shopping cart with a great community of programmers and merchants,” said Ian James, OpenCuro CEO, “so when we decided to start building payment plug-ins for our merchants, Zen Cart jumped to mind as the perfect place to start.”
The module is available for free download from Zen Cart and OpenCuro’s websites and installation, configuration and testing can allegedly be done in minutes, requiring no programming.
