Fanlala partners with Virtual Piggy for secure under 18 online payments

Youth e-commerce payment solution

Virtual Piggy is entering an agreement with Fanlala, a social entertainment and lifestyle site for tweens and teens, to provide the site with a youth e-commerce payment solution (view press release). Fanlala provides entertainment and lifestyle content to kids aged 9-15 such as new music, celeb news, photo galleries, and new games and quizzes. The Fanlala site will incorporate Virtual Piggy’s online payment solution enabling kids to make online payments without sharing any personal financial information. The solution allows children to make online payments by logging in to their parent controlled prepaid account and making transactions that are controlled by parameters set by their parents. The solution is parent approved and managed and COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) compliant and TRUSTe certified.

With more than 20 million tweens in the United States alone spending upwards of USD43 billion annually, Virtual Piggy as a payment method gives Fanlala users a secure way for kids to explore online financial transactions with parental guidance,” said Fanlala CEO Alan Anderson.
