Square is partnering with NetSuite, a provider of cloud-based financials /ERP software suites, to provide a next generation iPad POS solution for merchants (view press release). Through the partnership, the two parties are looking to integrate the Square Register with NetSuite’s cloud commerce solution to offer a POS system providing merchants with a broader understanding of customers, transactions and financials. The Square Register mobile POS app for iPad streamlines checkout, tracks sales and is designed to facilitate communication between merchant and customer. NetSuite’s Commerce as a Service and SuiteCommerce solutions provide merchants with a central system to manage transactions through any touch point, including POS, website, smartphones, tablets and social media. The companies’ integrated solutions will provide merchants with complete cloud financial and CRM capabilities, enabling them to record transactions and develop customer profiles to deliver a more personalised experience.
“Square is transforming payments, on both sides of the counter, with mobile technology. An excellent example of Commerce as a Service in the cloud,” said NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson. “Our partnership opens new frontiers for merchants to simplify card transactions while managing interaction directly on top of the world’s most widely used cloud business management solution.”
