Bank of America reaches mobile banking milestone

10 million of its customers deploy its mobile banking solution

Bank of America has announced that approximately 10 million of its customers deploy its mobile banking solution, representing growth of around 3 million active users in the last 12 months (view press release). The banking solution enables users to use their mobile devices to check account balances, pay bills, transfer funds and spot the closest ATM. Bank of America is allegedly the first financial institution to roll out an app for Apple, Android and BlackBerry devices. It deploys a tablet-specific app for Apple, Amazon’s Kindle and Android.

“Increasingly, our customers are choosing to manage their finances with us in the digital space. We are seeing an average of over $1 billion in transactions weekly through mobile banking,” explains Aditya Bhasin, Consumer Marketing and Online and Mobile executive. “It is much more than simply checking balances, they’re actively managing their banking accounts.”
