Deals firm Scoutmob nabs USD3.25 million and partners with First Data

Planning to expand over the coming year

Local deals firms Scoutmob has raised USD3.25 million in funding from AOL VenturesCapitol BroadcastingCox Enterprises and New Atlantic Ventures, as well as angel Ben Lerer. The firm is also partnering with payment company First Data Corporation as it attempts to boost its service and build out its product across the UK.

Scoutmob is a personalised deals service that targets users with local restaurant, business and retail offers. The firm is currently active in 13 markets but is planning to expand over the coming year. Scoutmob says the need to employ local editorial staff is hampering the speed at which it can roll out.
