The Credit Union is partnering with Tyfone to bring mobile services such as mobile banking, mobile security, iCashe mobile wallet and in-store mobile payments to its members over the next few quarters (view press release). Tyfone’s mobile banking offering includes features such as checking balance, account history review, fund transfers, branch and ATM location lookup, customisable alerts and bill pay. Customers can also enrol and customise mobile banking services directly from a mobile device and send and receive digital gift cards for a network of retailers. The company’s u4ia mobile platform will be hosted in the cloud to enable secure Mobile Banking and iCashe Mobile Wallet services, the latter of which will be capable of contactless payments with NFC and cloud payments and strong authentication ID management without NFC.
“Mobile tools are rapidly evolving and becoming increasingly important to our members,” said John Worthington, SVP of corporate communications for SSFCU. “Tyfone has a unique perspective on the features and functions that are relevant to consumers as the technology matures and the reality of person-to-person payments, near field communications and a suite of digital wallet services become commonplace. We are excited to begin implementation right away and to roll out the first wave of mobile services to our members this year.”
