US bill payment company TIO Networks Corp is launching TIO MobilePay, an app that enables consumers to pay multiple bills with their Visa or MasterCard branded card (view press release). The app is available for iPhone, iPad and Android, and can be used to pay around 6,000 billers across the US, with the option of same day processing. The solution also offers an emergency bill payment service which processes payments in real time. According to a survey carried out by the National Foundation for Credit Counselling, consumers spent around USD20 billion in credit card late bill fees in 2009.
TIO MobilePay is the first of a suite of unified cloud based products due to be rolled out later this year by TIO Wallet. Subsequent product releases will enable consumers to load funds onto their wallet from cash-pay locations across the US and make purchases and transfers as well as bill payments.
