Social commerce startup, ShopSocially, has officially launched its online shopping platform after adding USD500,000 from TiE Angels. The company’s Series A was led by Valhalla Partners, with additional participation from angel investor Raman Khanna, Ashish Gupta and Dharmesh Thakker.
Founded in 2009, ShopSocially offers a suite of social apps that retailers can embed into their website, within marketing campaigns or on their Facebook. These apps support a variety of functions allowing businesses to control when and how these apps are shown using rule-based targeting. It also offers other features like SEO optimisation, analytics and reporting. The company has worked with hundreds of customers to date including Sears, Sport Chalet, Ritz, The Children’s Place and Zales. ShopSocially’s social apps have sparked huge impact on the site with reports of a 38.8% increase in conversation. The company’s CEO Jair Rawat says it is on track for profitability this year.
