HSBC is launching its Fast Balance app for Android and Blackberry devices enabling users to check balance and their last six transactions on the go (view press release). Another feature allows users to top up airtime for up to five mobile phones. The app, released for iPhone earlier this year, was developed as part of a three year deal signed in April with mobile money solutions provider Monitise.
Fast Balance can be used for all current HSBC accounts where customers have been issued with a debit card. Once the app has been downloaded and details registered, users click the HSBC Fast Balance icon, enter a passcode and then choose the current account they wish to view.
