LevelUp drops card processing fees

No card processing fees

Mobile payments provider, LevelUp, is dropping its card processing fees (view press release). Merchants who accept LevelUp as a form of payment will no longer have to pay processing fees as part of a new feature dubbed the ‘interchange zero revolution’. The interchange zero concept promotes the idea that payment providers should add value above the transaction in ways that help businesses grow, such as customer acquisition and customer loyalty campaigns. When a merchant chooses to use LevelUp, the mobile payment provider earns USD0.35 for every dollar of credit redeemed on that merchant campaign. The company claims this means they will only make money when real value, which is determined by the merchant when they set up their campaign, is created.
