Payment processor, BillingTree, is launching Health PAS, an initiative which allows third-party billing services and accounts receivable companies to process payments on behalf of a healthcare organisation (view press release). Health PAS is designed to enable companies to offer ‘enhanced’ payment options including processing HAS and FSA payments while improving the revenue cycle for their providers’ patient services. The Health PAS programme also aims to encourage third-party billing services and accounts receivables companies to invite their healthcare customers to create a merchant account through BillingTree. The company will then be able to offer payment services including instant authorisation of credit and debit cards on behalf of the provider’s account, the ability to accept more payment options including HAS and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and new revenue opportunities including expanded first party billing and early out services.
