USD30 million of funding to date

Boom Financial has raised USD17 million in a round of funding led by mobile operator Digicel Group with previous investors RRE Ventures and MATT.org also participating. This brings its total funding to USD30 million to date.

Palo Alto-based Boom, previously m-Via, enables users to send money using just a text in an attempt to replace wire transfers. The additional investment will accelerate the startup’s plans to extend the mobile banking ecosystem in the Caribbean and Central America regions and improve its sales in these regions as well as the US and Latin America.
