Providing consumers with options for loading funds

The Western Union Company is partnering with small-box discount retailer, Dollar General Corporation, to offer two Western Union general-purpose reloadable (GPR) prepaid cards at Dollar General stores in the US (view press release). The Western Union MoneyWise and Western Union Telemundo cards aim to provide consumers with options for loading funds, including Western Union Money Transfer.  To reload money, cardholders can visit Dollar General stores and around 45,000 other retail stores, including participating Western Union Agent locations. In addition, users can load funds onto their cards through direct deposit of employer or government benefits, through their bank accounts online or by directing a Western Union Money Transfer directly onto the card.

The cards - protected by the MasterCard Zero Liability policy - can be used anywhere Debit MasterCard is accepted, including online and at ATMS. Credit checks and bank accounts are not required to sign up, and cardholders can manage their card accounts online and on the phone.
