RFI Global gains Visa accreditation for mobile testing

Testing of mobile handsets

RFI Global, a company that tests developments in the mobile payments arena, has received Visa accreditation to perform Visa mobile product testing, reports Finextra. As a result, RFI can perform functional testing of mobile handsets, Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC), microSD and embedded secure element combinations. The company will be able to do this in compliance with the Visa Mobile Contactless Payment Specification which ensures that mobile products support Visa payWave payment transactions.

The news follows the recent acquisition of RBI Global, together with Collis and Witham Laboratories by UL, an independent safety science company.

By joining UL we can now offer our customers a comprehensive transaction security service portfolio in functional testing, security evaluation, consulting, test services, training and test tools. This Visa accreditation enables us to provide unmatched value to all Mobile Payment industry stakeholders in every region through our Mobile Test Centre,” said Jean-Luc Khaou, head of payments & security at RFI Global
