Card payments on Androids

Android smartphone users will be able to make and accept card payments via mPowa, according to Finextra. To use the service, customers with mPowa’s reader are required to visit the Android Google ‘Play Store’ and download the mPowa m-payment app onto their phones.

We are very happy to be announcing the extension of mPowa's service to mobile phones using Google's Android operating system. Sales of phones using the Android operating system are currently on the increase across the globe and we are now able to serve this growing group of customers,” said Dan Wagner, CEO and founder of mPowa.

mPowa’ service includes a mobile app and reader, which together turns a mobile phone into a mobile PoS device,  enabling credit and debit card payments. The reader can either swipe a card’s magnetic strip or use Chip and PIN technology.
