NFC-enabled mobile parking

Parkmobile USA, a provider of cashless parking services, is launching a new NFC-enabled mobile parking service in Birmingham, Michigan. The service will allow motorists to pay for parking via their mobile phones. To participate, drivers must set up an account online and download the mobile app. When they are registered, motorists can use the app, the internet, QR code or call toll-free to pay for parking. Users will then be able to select the zone and parking space numbers printed on the Parkmobile stickers on each meter. In addition, customers can add more time to a meter from their phones and receive text message alert to alert them when the meter expiration time is pending. The mobile app is available on iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices.
