St George Banking Group in Australia is adding a new feature to its iPhone app by providing a credit card application and PropertyMate features. The credit card app functionality is available through the St George, BankSA and Bank of Melbourne iPhone mobile websites. The bank said that credit card approval process will remain the same, while some existing customers will be approved immediately. The PropertyMate feature aims to give property buyers and renter’s assistance in purchasing properties, guiding them through key features while allowing them to record notes and impressions as they go.

“We noticed an increase in the number of customers using the web-form available on our websites to open a credit card,” St George Banking Group CIO, Dhiren Kulkarni, said. “The form isn’t user friendly when accessed via a smartphone, and so we made the process simpler and easier by creating a mobile-friendly form accessible via mobile banking.”
