McDonalds Canada partners Interac Association for contactless payments

McDonald’s Canada will be accepting Interac Flash from debit card services company, Interac Association, enabling customers to make a contactless debit transactions at the restaurant (view press release). Interac Flash, an updated version of Interac Debit, is the company’s contactless debit solution. The announcement follows the completion of a successful Interac Flash pilot at five McDonald’s restaurants in Toronto. Full deployment at point-of-sale within restaurants and at drive-thrus at more than 1,400 locations from coast-to-coast will be completed by March 2013. Payment card processor, Moneris Solutions, will manage the deployment.
