Google to launch Google Play gift cards – Rumour

Upcoming gift cards

Google is planning to launch a new gift card and app wish list features on its Google Play app store with the launch of its latest update, according to reports. Its hackers have uncovered strong evidence of these features in the code for the updated store, claims the Android Police website. The upcoming gift cards will allow customers without access to a credit card to buy content for their Android device, while it is believed that users will be able to add anything sold in Play Store to wish lists for a later purchase.

Google has also launched “smart updates” in Play Store, a feature which enables more efficient app updates. Users will no longer have to download complete apps when there is an update, but only the parts that have been changed. The new smart updates are thought to be around one third of the size of full updates, which aims to save bandwidth and extend the battery life of devices.
