Playerize snaps up Super Rewards to monetise games

Virtual currencies

Vancouver-based user acquisition firm, Playerize, is buying Super Rewards, a game monetisation service, for an undisclosed amount. Super Rewards, established in 2007, was acquired two years later by Adknowledge for USD50million, but subsequently bought back by its founder. Super Rewards powers a paywall that developers can imbed in their games to enable players earn virtual currency to spend in the game by completing surveys and watching videos. Playerize, which has raised around USD1million to date, hopes the acquisition will grow its product into a destination for developers to build up their users and boost their revenues.
