VeriFone Systems is launching the SAIL Developer Portal, which will provide app developers with access to tools and APIs enabling them to integrate with the SAIL m-payment platform (view press release). SAIL is an open platform that enables mobile application developers and technology providers to build their own payment or marketing solutions on top of VeriFone’s infrastructure. The SAIL Developer Portal features a SAIL Instant Commerce Toolkit that enables developer plug-and-play access to the components of the SAIL Open Payment platform, including APIs for real time merchant enrolment, payment processing through the secure SAIL payments engine, as well as inventory and data sync capabilities.
Developers can use the toolkit to develop their own iOS and Android mobile payments solutions, without having to rebuild secure gateway or mobile device driver assets. Users will be required to embed the SAIL Payments API into their applications and utilise the SAIL platform to handle all card processor and merchant settlement functions.
