payvia launches political fundraising initiative for Obama for America

Online and mobile payment provider, payvia, is launching political contributions via mobile payments for the Obama for America (OFA) (view press release). The initiative will allow supporters to donate to OFA using their mobile phone, which can be made by SMS. Payments will be charged to the users’ carrier bill.

payvia partners with merchants and mobile operators to enable consumers to pay for digital goods and services using their mobile number, adding purchases directly to their carrier bill.
