iWL2 series mobile point of sale device

The latest iWL2 series mobile point of sale device from payment solution provider, Ingenico, has obtained certification through AT&T 3G Wireless Network (view press release). As a result of the certification, Ingenico claims that the iWL2 series terminals have become the first wireless devices to operate on the 3G network. The iWL2 series is built on the company’s Telium2 architecture. With 3G connectivity and colour screen option, the iWL2 series has been created to provide merchants with convenience to engage customers anywhere and accept payments on the move. The device can accept a number of electronic payments, including magnetic stripe contact and contactless, EMV contact and contactless and mobile wallet (NFC-based) transactions.

Mobile technology has changed almost every aspect of our daily lives including how consumers shop for products. Adoption of mobile payment technology to harness this evolution can create customer loyalty, keep the checkout lines clear, and take payment beyond the brick and mortar storefront,” said Gregory Boardman, SVP, Product & Development, Ingenico North America. “The iWL2 series devices provide additional features such as extended battery life and a fast receipt printer found to be more attractive with mid-to-high volume small merchants
