Level 1 PCI DSS Service Provider

HTEC, a provider of payment and loyalty solutions for petrol retailers in the UK and Europe, has selected Trustwave to provide compliance validation services, in an effort to meet its obligations as a Level 1 PCI DSS Service Provider. Through the deal, Trustwave will provide a range of Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) services, internal and external vulnerability scanning, penetration testing and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) software to meet the requirements of the standard.

HTEC provides the forecourt technology together with supporting processing and data centre facilities for payment card, fuel card and loyalty solutions for a number of fuel and retail chains including BP and Asda, while it also handles approximately 160 million payment card transactions annually.

It has been operating outdoor payment terminals to allow pay-at-pump transactions and is now in the process of designing outdoor payment terminals, to be available from early 2013, to open up access to new capabilities such as a colour VGA screen, barcode reader, NFC and touch screen.
