Apple teams up with Microlatch to enable NFC mobile payments – Rumour

Venturing into the NFC m-payments space

Apple will reportedly partner with fingerprint recognition company Microlatch on apps that use near-field communications technology. Lead investor in Microlatch David Murray told The Australian that the pair has an agreement to develop fingerprint identification, but gave no further details. On its website, Microlatch has posted an article which forecasts the ability to pay for items on the iPhone 5 and new iPad with just a swipe of the finger, lending credence to the reports.
