Oberthur Technologies, a provider of security and identification solutions and services based on smart card technologies, is partnering MOBITO, a Czech mobile payments company (view press release). MOBITO allows customers to pay for transport, ticketing and food and drinks at supermarkets and bars, via its service directly from a bank account, prepaid account or by using a credit and debit card. Customers can also use MOBITO to recharge credit on their phone and send money to each other. Oberthur Technologies relies on the platform "Mobile Money" MoreMagic and its suite of mobile applications and smartphones to provide mobile financial services utilised by MOBITO. Through this, the company hopes to facilitate the adoption of paperless payments, as well as NFC proximity payments or non-NFC throughout the Czech Republic.
