US holiday e-commerce spending is up 14% year on year to USD42.3bn according to latest figures from ComScore (reports StrategyEye). In the holiday period, measured between November 1 and December 31, the biggest percentage rise occurred on December 17, dubbed ‘free shipping day’, when spending increased 76% year on year to hit USD1.01bn.
The report claims that spending on Cyber Monday, the day that follows Black Friday after the Thanksgiving holiday hit a record USD1.47bn, retaining the title for the biggest US e-commerce spend in history during the period.
