PicPay launches service in Brazil


M-commerce has been growing fast in Brazil

South American mobile payment startup PicPay has launched its services in Brazil. The PicPay mobile application allows users to make purchases by scanning a QR code with their camera-equipped phones or tablets.

PicPay’s Android and iPhone apps are currently available in Portuguese. As for its codes, they can be inserted in digital content, printed ads and TV commercials.

M-commerce has been growing fast in Brazil. According to a recent study issued by the Brazilian e-Commerce Chamber, it represented 10% of online commerce in 2012, compared to 5% in 2011.
