Walk.by, an iOS app that brings local merchants onto e-commerce platforms, has raised USD650,000 from founder Josh Hernandez’s former company Lightbank.
The company’s platform consists of a merchant application that allows local businesses to upload information and images to the app as well as social media channels. The second part is a customer app, where users can follow retails and brands they like. The Chicago-based startup claims to have attracted 194 retailers and plans to add incentives for customers to come into shops in person.
