European mobile payments solution provider payleven has announced Apple as a new distributor. From today, payleven’s mobile Chip & PIN card reader can be purchased in European Apple stores and through www.apple.com in all countries where payleven is currently active. It is sold at GBP99 incl. VAT and includes a GBP20 credit for payleven transactions.
“Apple’s decision to sell payleven Chip & PIN card readers in their stores is a great step forward for mobile card acceptance and we’re delighted to see solutions emerge that can bring Chip & PIN out of the shop and into the hands of small businesses wherever they provide their goods and services to the public”, says Neil Horseman, Vice President – Acceptance at Visa Europe. “payleven’s solution helps to increase card acceptance while preserving the important Chip & PIN functionality and all the security benefits that it provides.”
“We are excited about Apple’s decision to offer our product”, states Konstantin Wolff, co-founder and CMO of payleven. “Mobile payments are currently changing the face of the finance industry and we are spearheading this movement. In order to achieve this, strong distribution partners are key.”
