Fortumo has announced the launch of their direct carrier billing with SingTel, a mobile operator in Singapore.
Fortumo has previously announced direct carrier billing partnerships with China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom in Asia and with Telefónica, Telenor, Swisscom and Kyivstar in other parts of the world.
The direct carrier billing enables users to make payments over a data connection by confirming the payments with their phone. The mobile operator has all the information necessary in order to process the payment; making it simply and easy.
Operator billing has the biggest potential as most users do not have a credit card but they have access to a mobile phone, as Indonesia has three times more mobile phones than payment cards.
