Ukash expanding in Portugal with Pagaqui

Ukash is continuing to invest in its European expansion, with the latest initiative extending availability of Ukash vouchers in Portugal. Working in partnership with Pagaqui, a payment terminal provider with close to 500 locations across Portugal, this new agreement increases Ukash’s network throughout the country to 4,600 sites.

Pagaqui is a successful new business in the Portuguese market, specialising in handling payments for several products and services. With Ukash available at all Pagaqui terminals, now more consumers in Portugal will be able to use cash to make safe and convenient payments online. Ukash also plays an important role in enabling social and financial inclusion for those who do not have access to banking or credit facilities.

“This partnership with Pagaqui forms part of our strategic expansion in Europe and strengthens our presence in Portugal, a key market for us” explained Miranda McLean, Marketing Director of Ukash. “With payment points across the country, this new initiative means Portuguese consumers can purchase Ukash vouchers at the same time as they go about their shopping, giving them access to a safer and more convenient way to participate in the online world.”

“Ukash is already a key player in Europe and by working closely with the brand we can bring new benefits to our customers”, added João Barros of Pagaqui. “As more shoppers want to be able to pay with cash online, Ukash offers our customers a new way to shop without the worry of fraud.”
