First Data has announced it will continue to provide debit processing, ATM driving and network services through its card processing platform and STAR Network to Bank of the West.
First Data has provided debit processing and network services to the bank since 1996, and has driven its ATMs since 2008.
“We are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with Bank of the West,” said Barry McCarthy, president, Financial Services, First Data. “This expanded agreement will provide the bank with a single processing platform for debit and credit, as well as access to added functionality such as analytics and security available across its card base.”
“We value the relationship we have with First Data,” said Paul Wible, senior executive vice president and head of Bank of the West’s National Finance Group. “Superior customer service is our highest priority and having our debit and credit portfolios on one card platform is an important consideration for us.”
“As we move toward launching a chip card solution in 2015 for both consumer and commercial Bank of the West customers, we look forward to benefiting even more from the services First Data provides to us.” said Jill Gonzalez, senior vice president and head of card services for Bank of the West.
