Ogone provides m-payment solution for Thalys train app

Ingenico has announced that the new mobile payment interfaces designed for the Thalys app and their online payment website has been deployed by Ogone.

This app will enable passengers to pay tickets directly from their smartphone, the app was launched in December 2013, and the new function was quickly adopted by passengers as it is now used to buy between 600 and 1000 tickets per week.

The Thalys mobile app also provides users with all data required to organise and manage journeys as it includes timetables and real-time traffic conditions. The new payment solution provided by Ogone enables Thalys customers to book and/or buy their tickets in just a few clicks from their Smartphone.

Jurgen Verstraete, CEO of Ogone said: “With the rise of smartphone online shopping, ‘m-payment’ is a key step in brands’ strategy for optimising conversion rates. The development of the payment solution for the Thalys app demonstrates Ogone’s capacity to provide secure mobile payment means via its platform. We are therefore able to better assist our customers and partners in expanding their digital activities while improving consumer experience.”
