MasterCard Start Path aiding startups

MasterCard is launching MasterCard Start Path, a commitment to help accelerate startups toward long-term success. The initiative will offer customised support, operational mentorship and the potential to secure pilots with key global players.

In Europe, MasterCard is launching a commerce-focused accelerator for innovative early stage European startups with direct involvement from leading partners including ASOS and Capital One, amongst others.

The Start Path team will work closely with each startup to understand their goals and vision in order to develop a tailored approach. Through the programme, MasterCard will help the startups get on their way to securing a pilot with a flagship customer. It will also aid overcoming key operational challenges.

Startups will also be helped through support to raise series A funding as well as refining technology solutions.

“Start Path is another great way that MasterCard is showing continued commitment to innovation,” said Stephane Wyper, Start Path Global Lead at MasterCard.  “The future of commerce will be shaped both by traditional players and by startups that are already experimenting with the next generation of solutions.  We are giving these startups direct access to our extensive knowledge and experience, to help them uncover new ideas, and ultimately create better experiences for consumers, merchants and other partners.”

Startups can apply for the opportunity to participate in this accelerator program until May 16 via the online platform. MasterCard will select up to 8 companies in the commerce ecosystem from across Europe to participate in the 12-month hybrid onsite and virtual program that will launch in late July.
