Telecom Italia and payleven enter mPOS distribution partnership

Telecom Italia and payleven have announced that they have entered into a partnership, enabling Telecom Italia to offer to its customers a cost-effective and easy-to-use mobile card payments solution.

Also a Chip & PIN card reader and a mobile app are available at no additional cost which will enable business owners to use their smartphone or tablet to accept payments.

The solution is tailored to Italian business owners that still do not accept card payments; allowing them to comply with new legislation that has gone into effect. This legislation requires all business owners and professionals to allow debit card payments for any transaction over EUR30.

“The partnership with payleven allows us to broaden our offer of advanced payment solutions,” says Enrico Trovati, Business Marketing Director, Telecom Italia. “We are convinced that our joint solution allows small business owners to comply with the new regulations in a simple and inexpensive way, as well as giving them the opportunity to boost customer satisfaction.”

Konstantin Wolff, payleven founder and CMO, adds: “We are proud to work with Telecom Italia to increase card acceptance in the Italian SME segment. The partnership with Telecom Italia demonstrates how an ICT leader with a strong distribution network can successfully shape an offer together with a young and growing pioneer in mobile payments like payleven.”
