Gemalto has announced it has supplied a complete software, platform and service solution that securely issues PIN codes to LCL payment card customers via SMS.
PIN delivery by SMS significantly improves LCL’s customer service, as cardholders who forget their confidential code when out shopping or withdrawing cash will benefit from the option of a quick reminder. Also when a newly created card is delivered to a home address, distribution by SMS rather than in a letter to the same destination will reduce the risk of fraud from stolen cards and PINs. This will also reduced mailing costs and increase customer engagement.
“LCL recognizes the mobile channel as a new opportunity to support their continued drive to optimize card activation rates and be the top-of-wallet choice for payment,” said Philippe Cambriel, President for Europe, Mediterranean and CIS at Gemalto. “Enabling cardholders to get their PIN code on their mobile phone prompts them to start using their banking card as soon as they receive it.”
