Fiserv has appointed Jamie Topolski as director of alternative payment strategies for its Output Solutions group, in a bid to boost its EMV expertise.
Topolski brings a wealth of experience in financial payments and EMV technology, having previously worked as senior product manager of commercial cards at JPMorgan Chase and manager of EMV programs at Discover Financial Services.
His new role will see him joining an existing team of EMV experts to focus on delivering a cost-effective, comprehensive and integrated EMV solution and supporting Fiserv clients as they prepare for and implement the migration from magnetic stripe to EMV chip cards.
Jorge Diaz, president of Output Solutions at Fiserv, commented: “We are pleased to welcome Jamie as the newest addition to our impressive team of payments experts at Fiserv. His deep industry expertise, including supporting implementation and deployment of chip card programs in Europe, Asia and South America during his tenure as Manager of Global EMV Programs at Discover Financial Services, will serve as an excellent resource to our clients and the industry overall.”
Topolski added: “Given the heightened consumer concerns about card fraud, the looming October 2015 shift in payment liability, and the need to support card use internationally, financial institutions need to begin planning now for the migration to EMV chip cards. The number of card options available and the many decisions to be made can be overwhelming. To best manage this complex migration process, financial institutions should work with a partner that understands transaction processing, card manufacturing and personalization, and risk management.”
