Kartrocket sees investment in e-commerce solution for SMEs

Kartrocket, an ecommerce enablement platform for SMEs and retailers, has announced a Series A investment led by the technology venture investor Nirvana Venture Advisors.

US-based 500 Startups and Japan-based Beenos (NetPrice) also participated in the financing round.

“KartRocket has rapidly proven that they can service the Indian SME market by offering a true end-to-end ecommerce platform on a subscription model” said Rajan Mehra, Managing Director, Nirvana Venture Advisors. “The team has made tremendous progress in the last year and we’re excited to be working together with them to create a market leader.”

Founded in 2012 in New Delhi, KartRocket provides a do-it-yourself ecommerce platform, especially focused on the unique requirements of the Indian ecommerce industry and Indian SMEs. With KartRocket, Indian SMEs can launch their web and mobile ready stores with best web and mobile site designs, built-in shipping, payment and multi-channel sales integration. Some of KartRocket’s prominent clients include Da Milano, Uni Style Image, Valyoo Technologies, TantraTshirts, Gaurav Gupta, Gyans, Divani, Karol Bagh Saree House and Latin Quarters.

Previously KartRocket raised their angel round from 5ideas, 500 Startups and angel investor Jatin Aneja in July 2013. From 100 customers, KartRocket has grown to 1900 paying customers in a matter of 12 months.

KartRocket is already integrated with eBay, Amazon and Snapdeal to allow multi-channel sales. KartRocket has also beefed up its technology architecture by using world class providers such as Amazon AWS and Akamai for content delivery – making it the only such provider in India to offer this.

These tie-ups allow KartRocket’s merchants to enjoy pre-negotiated and transparent pricing and the ability to avail these services all under the same roof.

“We’re seeing great benefits from providing end-to-end services to Indian retailers under one roof, without burning a hole in their pocket, and want to continue along that line of sight” mentioned GautamKapoor, COO and Co-founder, KartRocket.com. “There’s a huge untapped market opportunity in India in this space, and the funds raised will help us amplify our reach across the country. We’re confident of acquiring 10,000 paying customers in one year from today”.
