FIME Korea receives level one Visa accreditation

Visa has given its approval for payment technology certifier FIME to test compliance of its mobile handsets, chipsets and NFC technology.

Based in Seoul, FIME specialise in consultancy and market integration testing services for NFC solutions. The payments firm have supported the Korean market with EMVCo Level 1 compliance services since 2012.

With this new accreditation, FIME can now offer testing services for Visa products, allowing the firm to create more partnerships with Korean payment companies that are seeking contactless mobile payment certification for NFC-based products.

Celebrating the announcement, JY Jung, FIME Korea’s recently appointed Country Manager, claims that South Korea is the home of mobile payments innovation.

We have listened to the market and responded to its needs. We brought forward EMVCo services a couple of years ago, so the addition of Visa mobile contactless services was a big priority as the scheme is very prominent in South Korea,’’ stated Jung.

‘‘This means that we can now support the manufacturers with successful, efficient and cost-effective product development and formal approval services to ensure their products work as intended on a global scale.’’
