Moneycorp gains three Barclays employees to assist in global expansion

International payment and foreign exchange group Moneycorp has hired three senior Barclays employees to help spearhead its expansion into the global payments market.

Barclays Corporate employees Richard Braham, Bill Wrest and Kirsty Garner have all joined Moneycorp and will be taking up managerial positions within its global payment division.

Richard Braham joins as senior relationship manager, Bill Wrest joins as head of innovation, and Kirsty Garner joins as marketing and innovation manager.

All three of Moneycorp’s additions have vast experience within the payments sector. Bill Wrest stands out in particular, who in his 35 year career built a cash management solution across the funds sector of the Bank of America. More recently Wrest developed the innovation function at Barclays Corporate.

Mark Horgan, CEO of Moneycorp is delighted with the firm’s three new acquisitions.

‘‘This team is a game changer for moneycorp and part of our continued investment in people and technology. The team’s expertise will further strengthen our Global Payments division as we grow the business and reinforce moneycorp’s position as a leader in its field.’’

‘‘Our international payments business is moneycorp’s fastest growing division, and we will continue to invest as the business goes from strength to strength, cementing its proposition to internationally trading businesses,’’ continued Horgan.

Barclays has been experiencing a transitionary period in recent weeks. Recently Payment Eye reported that its CEO Andy Jenkins had been sacked amid rows at boardroom level over the bank’s cost cutting procedures.
