Spire Payments wins Finland EMV contract

Spire Payments has been awarded the chance to supply over 15,000 EMV and contactless-enabled card payment devices to RAY, one of Europe’s largest gaming social enterprises.

Spire has been awarded the EMV contract in collaboration with Poplatek Oy, a Finnish payment service provider.

RAY is one of Europe’s largest slot machine providers, with the majority of its profit going towards charitable foundations.

RAY’s profits are used for promoting health and social welfare in Finland, and in 2015 over 309 million Euros will be granted to organisations supporting these causes.

This new contract will see all new RAY gaming installations equipped with the latest chip and pin and contactless payment technology.

The Spire Payments and Poplatek Oy solution will see state-of-the-art SPp30 card payment devices installed in gaming locations, allowing customers to pay securely by debit card.

‘‘This project  demonstrates Spire Payments’ commitment to meet the demands of the latest technologies, support our international customer base while also enabling continued global growth for our business,’’ explains Kazem Aminaee, CEO and president of Spire Payments.

‘‘We are excited to work with Spire Payments and Poplatek Oy on this project. The installation of the latest payment technology will ensure we can provide further value added features to our customers in the future,’’ said Timo Kiiskinen, COO of RAY.
